New Tutorial: Creating a Looping Particle System
By Aharon Rabinowitz
Published on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Got a new tutorial for you, folks – Creating a Looping Particle System.

OK, some of you have probably been following my work for a while and know that I already did a looping particles tutorial at Creative Cow. But this is much more in depth and covers both creating looping particle systems and creating looping particle shapes using Trapcode Particular’s custom settings. You can find that tutorial here.

We’ll also use some of these techniques in a later tutorial… (more…)

Published on Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Hi folks-

One more episode/tutorial coming before the end of the year. Hopefully we’ll have it up sometime tomorrow.  For now, let me just point out that, in the mean time, we already have a whole bunch of tutorials here at Red Giant Software, and you can find those here.

See you soon.

*Red Giant will be closed 12/24/08 – 1/1/08 for the holidays*

Yup -  We’ll be closed for the holidays. Just putting it out there so it’s not a surprise. I, for one, will be thinking a lot about RGTV as I sit on the white sand beaches of Florida. Well… maybe not.

FYI – Even though we’re not around, the Red Giant Superstore is still open. Yeah… OK, it’s just a store, but Superstore sounds cooler…  But I digress… That means you can spend some of that holiday cash burning a hole in your pocket on stuff you can actually use – unlike that Winter Wonderland-themed sweater your mother-in-law got you.

Oh – hey! Still one episode to go before that! It should be live on Tuesday of next week.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I was afraid of Form…

If you watched part 1 of the Binary Transition tutorial, then you’ve already learned a little bit about Trapcode Form. But I have a confession to make. The first time I opened form, I just didn’t get it. And it scared me too. (more…)

Slowing Things Down
By Aharon Rabinowitz
Published on Friday, December 12th, 2008

Last night at After Efects New York, one of my friends came up to me and said he really liked the binary transition tutorial, but felt that in the final result, you couldn’t see the numbers clearly.

Well, the simple solution is to just slow things down a bit.  (more…)

Published on Friday, December 5th, 2008

Recently, I received this email:

I wanted to know if you can do a tutorial on how to recreate (as closely as possible) the effects used in the commercial and trailer for the TV show 24? You can view the trailer at: http://www.fox.com/24/ - Click “play trailer.”

The trailer he’s referring to is, unfortunately, gone. (more…)

Introducing Red Giant TV!

Hi folks-

For the last few years I’ve been very fortunate. Through my work on the Creative Cow Adobe After Effects Podcast, I’ve been able to help thousands of people learn to use AE, so they can get better at what they love to do. As an animator, I love to create stuff that looks cool. But as a teacher, there is nothing that gives me more pleasure than sharing information. (more…)
