Hi Folks – At the end of last year, we removed Magic Bullet Denoiser from our website, discontinuing version 1 from our product line. At that time, we promised we would release a new version of Denoiser that would be more stable and free to current users of Denoiser 1. And as of today, that’s exactly what we’ve done. Magic Bullet Denoiser II is here! Here are the quick points:
  • We’ve developed Magic Bullet Denoiser II from scratch (completely new code) to bring you the quality of Denoiser 1, but with more stability. Red Giant owns this code 100% – which means the product is not going anywhere.
  • We have spent lots of time developing the default settings for Denoiser II to give you the best possible look as soon as you apply. There’s is always room to tweak setting, but often you won’t need to.
  • Currently Denoiser II is only available for After Effects, but it will support multiple host apps in the future (read THIS FAQ for more info).
  • Denoiser II is a Free Update for all Denoiser 1 and Magic Bullet Suite users. I repeat: If you already owned a license of Denoiser or bought the Magic Bullet Suite after Denoiser was discontinued, you get Denoiser II for FREE.
If, as described above, you’re entitled to a free update to Denoiser II, you can grab it by downloading the latest Magic Bullet Suite Installer. If Denoiser is new to you, you can get it HERE. Here’s the FAQ full of great info on the Denoiser II update that should answer any and all of your questions. As always, we’re committed to giving you the best software, the best user experience, and the best support in the industry. We’re always listening to your questions and concerns and will always be here for you. Reach out to us if you need help. Special thanks to T. J. Baurain and Joe Pollock for filming the vast majority of the clips in the above video. Other clip credits include:
  • Vincent Laforet & Stu Maschwitz (Nocturne)
  • Eric Escobar
  • Seth Worley (Plot Device)

  1. Excellent! Downloading this now. Kudos for redeveloping it from scratch and for making it available to existing users for free. I hope a Premiere Pro version will follow very soon!

  2. GREAT! Though I can’t wait for this to be available for Premiere Pro, that’s where I’d use it the most.

Also, an updated commenting system would be nice! Disqus would be great for continued interaction.

  3. Thanks! Love the customer service and the products….. Definitely a happy customer ;)! Looking forward to the Premier Pro version as well….

  4. how do i ONLY install Denoiser II? I use Suite 10 and have Denoiser 1.0, but when i DL Denoiser II Suite 11.3 is the pkg the link DL’s. When i walk through setup I ONLY want to upgrade Denoiser, not all the other apps in Suite 10, but the installer wants to upgrade ALL of MBS10. Help?

  5. Impressive! The default settings gave good results on the first clip. Looking forward to tweaking to see how good it can get.

  6. Hi, great news. I upgraded instantly and applied it to a current project. However, I experience a repeating problem in After Effects CS5.5: On the very first frame of the clip that I apply MB Denoiser II to, the brightness goes totally wrong. It is only on the first frame. Denoiser is applied via an adjustment layer. The footage is Full HD Cineform encoded. Anyone else?

  7. Avid, please!

  8. any chance someone can help me out? see post #5 above. would really appreciate the help, on a tight deadline. thx

  9. Can we get an update on MB Denoiser II for NLEs? Any chance this will be implemented in time for the CS6 update?

  10. Great post. I was checking constantly this blog and I’m inspired! Extremely helpful information specifically the remaining part :) I deal with such info much. I used to be looking for this particular information for a very long time. Thank you and good luck.

  11. regarding the first frame issue above:

I have the same problem. My adjustment layer and clip are the same length so I apply Denoiser to the adj layer then drag the in point of the clip out a few frames. this will clear it up till RG releases a fix.

  12. I just purchased Denoise 2 for Premiere Pro CS6 but it doesn’t show up on my effects tabs. Whats going on?

  13. Any status on MB Denoiser 2 for FCPX? Would love to see that

  14. Kaylinn,
On 28 February 2012 you said FCP X support by mid-2012. On 2 November 2012 you now say no plans yet, asking if a compatibility request is needed? For the love of gosh, yes! There is a ton of us that have been waiting for updates since we first read your post nine months ago.

  15. …more than a year later: here we are… Still waiting on FCPX support. Neat Video here we go…

  16. Thanks Paul!
We plan to support Final Cut 7, Final Cut X and Premiere Pro by mid-2012.
