Red Giant collects both certain personal information and certain non-personal information.  Red Giant treats information collected from BulletProof  (referred to below) as non-personal information.  However, to the extent that Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as personal information.  Similarly, to the extent non-personal information is combined with personal information, we treat the combined information as personal information for purposes of the Red Giant Privacy Policy.

Collection of personal information

 As a visitor to this Site, you can engage in many activities without providing any personal information. In connection with other activities, such as placing orders or downloading software, Red Giant Software may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, Red Giant Software may ask that you provide us personal information, such as your first and last name, mailing address (including postal code), e-mail address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and other personal information. When ordering products on the Site, you will be asked to provide a credit card number. Depending upon the activity, some of the information that we ask you to provide is identified as mandatory and some as voluntary.  Red Giant Software collects your information in order to record and support your participation in the activities you select.  When you register a product, for example, the information is used to register your rights, if any, to technical support or other benefits that may be made available to registered users.  As another example, if you enter a contest, information is collected to qualify the entry and to contact you regarding the contest or prize awards. Our purpose is to understand which parts of BulletProof are used most, and which parts aren’t working as expected. Red Giant gathers anonymous statistics about how BulletProof is used through its Usage Statistics feature. Our purpose is to understand which parts of BulletProof are used most, and which parts aren’t working as expected. 

The statistics we collect will help us make the best darn product on the market. Without any extra effort, you are helping us to build BulletProof’s features and define what it will do in future versions — how awesome is that?  

HOW IT WORKS

Normally, the statistics collection happens in the background and doesn’t require you to do a thing. But we want to be clear about what we’re doing. You have the option to turn it off completely via a menu item.

Usage Statistics does not collect any personal information, or look at anything that isn’t BulletProof related. All BulletProof statistics are sent a

• Your computer’s system information, such as operating system, processor, and memory installed.

HOW TO CHANGE OPTIONS

Red Giant automatically collects usage statistics so we can improve your BulletProof experience. Usage Statistics are turned on for the free beta version of BulletProof. 


If you prefer to turn off Usage Statistics, follow instructions for doing so that are included in the application.

Protection of your personal information

 The personal information that you provide in connection with registering yourself as a user of Red Giant Software products or services, testing a demonstration version of Red Giant Software products, or registering a Red Giant Software product is classified as Registration Information. Registration Information is only available to authorized Red Giant Software employees or contractors and are not publicly distributed.

 Please note that any information you post to a public bulletin board or chat room, such as the Red Giant Software User Forum, is available to all persons accessing that site.
