Awesome! The new tools look cool.

Is Lift, Gamma, Gain back in there? Or at least the ability to paste/duplicate tools to another section?
Being able to duplicate a Gradient Exposure with the same settings would be GREAT–instead of having to apply, adjust, and reference the other instance of that tool to get the same look. 🙂

  2. It’s not showing up in Link yet :/ .. I’ll upgrade the old fashioned way! Thank you for this great update!

  3. It’s probably specific to my system, but:

I installed the Magic Bullet Looks 2.5 update this morning. In testing it I discovered that AE/Looks would hang every time I tried to apply a Look and return to the AE interface. Force-quit was necessary every time.
I rolled back to the previous version and Looks again functioned as expected.

MacPro 5,1 OSX 10.9.2, AE CC (latest version). Graphics card is

    1. Robert,

This is something that our support (and Magic Bullet Looks) team would like to look further into. Please contact them at with your information so we may resolve this issue.
      Thank you so much.

  4. As reported here for many months:

Red Giant didn’t take any steps whatsoever to fix the well-known bug of blank previews using an Adjustment Layer in Premiere Pro with the new 2.5 release today. This wasn’t a problem in earlier versions of Looks, so it’s not a technical limitation of the API, just Red Giant ignoring bug reports. Looks used to be my favorite quick-click color grading tool and I invested a lot in it; now that Lumetri is free with the Creative Suite (which actually works in an Adjustment Layer, which is what Adjustment Layers are for), I’ve moved past Looks and I’m never looking back.

  5. Did this update take away Magic Bullet Photolooks, Or is that now plugged into Photoshop? Either way, when I installed it, windows took away my shortcut saying the program didn’t exist anymore.

    1. Andrew,

The Magic Bullet Looks 2.5 update shouldn’t have effected PhotoLooks at all. I would recommend contacting our support team so we can see exactly what is going on. They are available via phone, email and live chat:
      Thank you,

  6. Tried downloading Looks 2.5 twice but when I open in FCPX I can’t see any of the new features mentioned and version number is 2.1.4?

    1. Chris,

I’m sorry for the troubles! Our support team will be happy to help, please contact support(at)redgiant(dot)com and they will be able to troubleshoot this issue.
      Thank you,

  7. Hi. I’m a Magic Bullet Looks 2 user. Downloaded and installed the 2.5 upgrade but Magic Bullet is still showing as version 2.0. Doesn’t seem to be installing correctly. I’m using the latest version of FCPX and OS X 10.9.2. Red Gian Link states that all my apps are up to date. Any help would be great.

    1. Anthony,

Just to make sure, are you opening up Looks within your host application or just the Looksbuilder? The update should be changed within your FCPX. If you are still having troubles, please contact support(at)redgiant(dot)com and they will be able to troubleshoot what is going on.
      Thank you,

  8. The update links to 2.5 don’t work. After downloading the file on the old fashioned way it only installs MBL 2.1.4. This is the old version including in the 11.1.0 Color Suite install file. What went wrong?

    1. Jens,

Please make sure that you are opening up Looks within your host application, not the Looksbuilder. If you are still having troubles, please contact support(at)redgiant(dot)com and they will be able to troubleshoot what is going on.
      Thank you,

  9. Version 2.5 was locking up (not responding error) after exiting the interface in both Sony Vegas and After Effects (CS6 and CC). I finally figured out what the cause was. This app from Stardock (ObjectDock)
Once the app was shut down Looks 2.5 worked properly (no lock up)

The previous version of Looks did not have a conflict with this app, can we get a bug confirmation and then a patch shortly?
Thanks So Much Red Giant Team–great job done with this new version

  10. Thank you – great tweaks.

  11. Was the team able to confirm the bug with this app and 2.5
