Hi folks – by now you’ve probably heard the news that Maxon and Red Giant are joining forces to become one company. This is a really exciting time. For years, Maxon and Red Giant have been connected on many levels – not just as a company, but as good friends who share similar philosophies about work, life and community. We hang out together at trade shows, support each other in our work, use each other’s software, and we’ve even collaborated on a short film together.

In 2020, we will go from being two separate companies – each with a serious passion for motion graphics and visual effects – to one team, united in our love of creating awesome, essential tools and who find constant delight in the amazing and unexpected things our community of users do with them. We genuinely cannot wait to begin working together to bring you new things that will blow your mind.

We know that you probably have a ton of questions about what this all means, and we’re excited to be able to share more information about it in the new year. In the meantime, all of us from Maxon and Red Giant would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous 2020. Talk to you soon!

  1. I’m going to take a wait-and-see attitude on this. Now Maxon is in charge – who knows what that will actually mean to loyal, paying Red Giant customers? Will we be pushed into yearly subscriptions for everything instead of being able to purchase major upgrades at a discounted price? Will we be saddled with a new copy-protections scheme? How is this actually good news for Red Giant customers and not just for folks who got paid when the company chanted hands?

  2. This is so good! Congrats guys 😀

  3. How about a tutorial on creating the Ghostbusters Streams to celebrate 😉
On a serious note though great news! Wishing you all the best for 2020!

  4. Hello. So Red Giant will be renamed to Maxon?

  5. Congratulations guys! Amazing news :). I can’t wait to see how you’ll work together in the future.

  6. This is exciting news! Two of the industry’s most powerful companies working and merging together can only mean great things to come. Happy holidays team RED!

  7. Is that mean we will have trapcode particular within cinema4D ? if so it could be very great.

  8. Congratulation~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wish you good luck

  9. This is certainly interesting news. I use Red Giant tools heavily, and I have enjoyed the products for years. I am concerned that there isn’t more information, because it isn’t clear what will happen to the toolset, licensing, etc. Will it be like Adobe and Substance? They’re integrated in the Adobe ecosystem, but they are still two sets of tools, two separate licensing requirements, etc. I look forward to learning more as soon as you can share the details. Cheers!

  10. Congrats, that’s great news!

  11. Hmmm. We’re well into the new year and no new news about this “merger”. I rely on the Trapcode suite for a variety of reasons and I’ve been a loyal customer of Peder’s for years. I’m hoping that the new entity will retain everything we love about RG products, and only make things better.

  12. YAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Red Giant + 3D power + Tutorials =
