Importing Media

There are several different methods and workflows for importing media into PluralEyes 4. Both files and folders may now be imported into PluralEyes 4.

Adding media folders or files

When you initially start PluralEyes 4, you'll get a blank project window, ready to add you media to be synced. Open-Window To add media to a PluralEyes project simply drag a folder, several folders or a project folder directly from your finder window to anywhere on the PluralEyes 4 window. PluralEyes will automatically process and organize the video clips, tracks and audio files and prepare them for synchronizing. Ready-to-synch Alternatively, click the Add Media tab at the top of the PluralEyes 4 window to browse and select folders or files. You can also use the File > Add Media option from the top pull-down menu File-Add Media

Adding files from a camera card

For this example, you have copied your media files directly from a supported camera card to a project folder so all of your media is intact and mirrors what was on the card. Supported camera cards are; AVCHD, P2, XDCAM, DCIM and CanonXF.
  • Drop the project folder to PluralEyes 4.0. Tracks are automatically created for the card as well as any audio device and the appropriate files are added to the tracks.
  • Some recording devices or cameras will have file size limits. When this is the case the camera merely creates and saves additional files for the clip. One clip can equal one or more files, this is called file spanning. PluralEyes does the right thing and treats all of the individual files as if it were one continuous clip. Learn more here.
  • Tip: Renaming the top level folder for the camera card is ok to do.
