Red Giant BulletProof

Copy/Paste Clip Attributes

You can copy and paste attributes between clips in the Metadata panel, Color Settings panel and Keywords panel. There are slight variations to how Copy/Paste works in each of these panels and in the Thumbnails panel.

The copied values are a temporary choice of metadata. To save that group of values for later use, you can create a Metadata preset, a Color Setting preset, or a Keyword preset.

Copy/Paste in Color Settings panel

Copy the values

To copy Color Setting values, first make sure the Color Switch for that tool is green and active.

Then context-click in the Color Settings panel and choose Copy Color Settings. You can click anywhere in the panel. The keyboard shortcut is Command-Shift-C.

All values get copied!

When you choose Copy, all active values in the Color Settings panel are used for copy/paste.

For instance, if you have Curves and LUT active, then the values for BOTH tools are copied and pasted.

Paste the values

Now select a different clip in the Thumbnails panel, and choose Paste Color Settings. The keyboard shortcut is Command-V.

In our example, we've pasted the Colorista 3-Way adjustments to another clip.

Copy/Paste in Metadata panel

You can copy/paste all Metadata attributes except for Markers and EXIF metadata.

Select the values

To copy Metadata values, you first have to select them. Context-click on a Metadata set, and choose Select [Metadata] Values. Its attributes will highlight in orange.

In our example, we've selected the Labels set.

Copy the values

Now context-click on that set and choose Copy Selected Metadata. You can click on the set's title or any attribute within the set. The keyboard shortcut is Command-C.

Only selected values get copied!

Only the values selected in that panel are used for copy/paste.

For instance, if you filled Slate and Labels info in the Metadata panel, but you only select the Labels set, then Slate attributes are NOT copied and pasted.

Paste the values

Now select a different clip in the Thumbnails panel, and choose Paste Metadata. The keyboard shortcut is Command-V.

In our example, we've pasted the Labels attributes to another clip. The Slate set also had values filled in, but we didn't select Slate for copying.

Copy/Paste in Keywords panel

Copying and pasting keywords is straightforward.

Copy the values

To copy keywords, context-click in the Color Settings panel and choose Copy Keywords. You can click anywhere in the panel. There is no keyboard shortcut.

All values get copied!

When you choose Copy, all keywords in the Keywords panel are used for copy/paste.

Paste the values

Now select a different clip in the Thumbnails panel, and choose Paste Keywords. There is no keyboard shortcut.

In our example, we've pasted four keywords to another clip.
