Emitter group > Emitter Type & Direction

The Emitter is where particles are born and released from. The Emitter Type is very important because this parameter sets the shape and functionality of the particle emission.

There are seven Emitter Types.

emit_point Point All particles are born at the same point.
emit_box Box Particles are born within a box. For sake of illustration, Velocity is 0 here.
emit_sphere Sphere Particles are born within a sphere. For sake of illustration, Velocity is 0 here.
emit_grid Grid Particles are born on a 2D or 3D grid. Read more about Grid Emitter.
emitt_light  Light Particles are born from the lights in the comp. Read about using Light Emitters.
emit_layer Layer Particles are born from a layer in the comp. Read about using Layer Emitters.
emitt_layergrid Layer Grid Particles are born from a layer in the comp in the shape of the Grid Emitter. Read about using the Layer Grid.
